Message From the Principal

Welcome to Springhurst Elementary School.
Springhurst is a special place where young minds are inspired and challenged, and all students are enabled to experience success.  As a parent myself, I appreciate the significance of the early years of a child's life and how, for both parents and students, elementary school marks the beginning of a new and important chapter.  Rest assured that your children will flourish at Springhurst thanks to the superb and highly-qualified staff, and bountiful resources and opportunities that await them this school year.
Across the disciplines you will find rich programs to stimulate each child’s interests, and enthusiastic staff members that have dedicated themselves to providing a quality curriculum that is cutting edge.  Committed to teaching the whole child, we offer not only a strong academic foundation, but a rich social and emotional experience so that children receive a well-rounded education. We strive to inspire lifelong learners who are also conscientious citizens.
As an inclusive school, Springhurst embodies the Mission of the Dobbs Ferry School District by ensuring that all students respect and value themselves and others.  Adult interactions within the school community mirror this philosophy and act as a model of respect and integrity for students.  I believe that children have a richer educational experience when they can learn from and help those around them.
I hope you will be involved participants in our school community.  I look forward to partnering with you to help your children grow and excel throughout the year and for many years to come.
